The BIPOC Foundation is thrilled to introduce the long-awaited Excellence Awards, a distinguished platform meticulously crafted to honor and celebrate the exceptional accomplishments of entrepreneurs and business owners within the BIPOC community across Western Canada.

The BIPOC Foundation proudly presents the Excellence Awards—an initiative with a resounding mission to illuminate the brilliance, innovation, and leadership that BIPOC entrepreneurs and business owners bring to the forefront. This year’s awards shine a spotlight on Black businesses and founders, encompassing three distinct categories:

1. Top 10 Black Entrepreneurs: Acknowledging the tireless dedication and profound impact created by Black entrepreneurs across Western Canada.
2. Top 5 Black Women-Owned Businesses: Celebrating the unwavering resilience and visionary leadership demonstrated by Black women entrepreneurs.
3. Top 10 Black Businesses: Commending the remarkable achievements and contributions of Black-owned enterprises that have left an enduring imprint on Western Canada.

Eligibility and Timeline

Nominees vying for the esteemed title in the Top 10 Black Entrepreneurs category must exhibit a successful operational presence for a minimum of 2 years as of August 10, 2021. Meanwhile, for the other two business-focused categories, a proven track record of a minimum of 3 years since August 10, 2020, is required.

The nomination window will remain open until October 10th, followed by the initiation of Phase 1 public voting on September 10th. This crucial voting phase will play a pivotal role in selecting the finalists for each category.

Stakeholders are presented with an exceptional opportunity to shape the trajectory of acknowledgment. The BIPOC Foundation warmly welcomes both first-party and third-party nominations, providing individuals the chance to nominate their own businesses, those of family members or friends, or any exceptional ventures that have captured their attention due to their outstanding contributions.

This year, the theme of focus is Black Excellence—an homage to the trailblazers making a significant impact and showcasing notable growth within their respective markets. As a testament to their dedication and achievements, the spotlight will shine upon a total of 25 winners, each honored with:
