Dr. John Owojori has taken a significant stride towards serving the residents of Saskatoon University-Sutherland constituency by officially declaring his nomination bid as the Saskatchewan Party candidate. With an outstanding track record of achievements and a profound commitment to community development, Dr. Owojori’s candidacy brings renewed enthusiasm and expertise to the forefront.
Dr. Owojori’s journey is characterized by resilience and dedication. Since becoming a resident of Saskatoon in 2009, he has made significant contributions to various fields. His unwavering commitment to academic excellence is evident through his extensive research background, which began at the Department of Soil Science at the esteemed University of Saskatchewan. Moreover, he passionately represents the voices of the community as a board member of the Evergreen and Aspen Ridge Community Association (EARCA) and the Electoral District Association (EDA) of Saskatoon West – Conservative Party of Canada.
With an impressive educational background, Dr. Owojori has garnered notable achievements. He earned his Ph.D. from Stellenbosch University in South Africa and went on to secure two prestigious postdoctoral fellowships in Canada and Germany. Before embarking on his journey in Canada, he served as a respected professor at the renowned Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria, dedicating years to impactful research. His expertise in environmental sciences earned him recognition as a former Professor at the Department of Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Science, North West University in South Africa, as well as a visiting professor at Obafemi Awolowo University.
Dr. Owojori’s accolades extend beyond the academic realm. In 2018, he was invited by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations to join a group of ten global experts in Rome, Italy, to develop a Pesticide Registration Toolkit for developing countries. This international recognition solidifies his reputation as a trailblazer in his field, actively working towards sustainable solutions.
However, Dr. Owojori’s impact is not confined to research and academia alone. As the Chief Executive and Principal Instructor at Distinct Driving School, an SGI-certified driving school in Saskatoon, he has empowered numerous individuals to gain independence and promote road safety. Additionally, he leads Distinct Immigration Services Inc., an immigration firm that helps individuals realize their dreams of Canadian immigration. Dr. Owojori’s dedication to supporting his community further extends through his partnership at NobleLinks Consulting, where he provides valuable insights and guidance based on his expertise.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Dr. Owojori draws strength and inspiration from his family. He is happily married to Rachael, a registered nurse and a gifted gospel artist based in Saskatoon. Together, they are blessed with three wonderful boys and proudly call Saskatoon their home.
