Mark your calendars for August 19th as the premier of Lumîérè Films’ latest releases is coming to the Cardel Theatre in Calgary, Alberta. The screening will showcase three short films by the talented director, Imole O. Ladipo, who is known for her compelling storytelling and passion for spreading positivity through her work.

Imole, a Filmmaker, Writer, and Content Creator, is the founder of Lumiere Films. Her vision is to transform the minds of people – one story at a time. She grew up in Nigeria and later moved to Canada to join her mother and brother. Her technical background in engineering is an asset to the filmmaking process as it allows her to plan and organize her movie development.
The three short films premiering at the event are ‘Hello Yesterday,’ ‘Wahala Be Like Bicycle – Disaster Date,’ and ‘GPS.’ The award-winning films depict relatable stories that will surely touch the hearts of the audience. ‘Hello Yesterday’ illustrates how aspirations of success and the busyness of life can dictate our actions. ‘Wahala Be Like Bicycle – Disaster Date’ tells the story of Deola, who finally gets to go on a date with the man she’s been chatting with since the lockdown, only to realize that she’s in for a night of her life. ‘GPS’ is about a couple who planned to have lots of babies and start a family, but things don’t go according to plan. It takes the audience on a rollercoaster ride of emotions as the couple quarrel and make up while driving to an African party.

Imole Ladipo’s passion for storytelling and film is evident in her work, and the event is the perfect opportunity for everyone to witness her talent firsthand. This event promises to be a glamorous and classy affair, and you surely don’t want to miss it!
