Landing in Saskatchewan, Canada soon, or do you know anyone who is? Peculiar Connect (PC) is here to assist with the sometimes overwhelming process of moving to a new nation. As the outreach division of the Peculiar People’s Parish, which is part of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), PC is a nonprofit company that provides assimilation and settlement assistance to immigrants who have made Saskatchewan their new home. Our services are offered to all newcomers and not just for immigrants of African origin.
According to the most recent Canada Census, 13% of recent immigrants are from Africa, making it one of the regions with the highest concentration of recent immigrants. In response to the challenges faced by recent immigrants of African descent, including communication barriers, challenges accessing services, racial discrimination, job readiness, access to the appropriate information, and more, PC was developed. We offer a number of services to aid immigrants in making the move, integrating, and settling into their new community.
Peculiar Connect services include:
Newcomer Services: We provide assistance with accommodation search, airport pick-up, and other services to ensure a seamless transition to your new home.
Career Support and Training: Our team provides consultations, free resume upgrades, and paid training in various courses such as Business Analysis, Data Analysis, Cyber Security, and Project Management, among others, to help newcomers achieve their career goals.
Social Connection: We understand that social connection is an integral part of settlement for many newcomers. We provide various activities and events to help newcomers connect with others and feel at home.
School Registration for Children: We assist newcomers with information about good schools in the area and provide guidance on how to get their children registered.
One-on-One Support: We provide support to help newcomers navigate government programs, open bank accounts, and more.
At Peculiar Connect, we are committed to providing quality settlement and integration services to all newcomers.
