Spotlight on Faith Ashogbon: Empowering Immigrant Youth in Canada
Meet Faith Ashogbon, a passionate advocate and dedicated mother of two, who is on a mission to boost the confidence of young immigrants as they settle into their new lives in Canada. 🇨🇦
Faith’s journey began when she moved from Lagos, Nigeria, to Moncton, Canada, in 2017. As she and her family adjusted to their new surroundings, Faith recognized the challenges that young immigrant children face in adapting to a new country, culture, and education system. She knew she had to make a difference.
With a master’s degree in education administration and a deep understanding of the struggles that young immigrants often encounter, Faith embarked on a transformative mission. She founded the Pure Gold Foundation, a youth program designed to provide support, mentorship, and empowerment to underrepresented immigrant children.
Faith’s unique approach combines fun and education, creating a safe space for these youth to build their self-esteem, develop leadership skills, and discover their true identities. Through the foundation’s activities, including classes, workshops, camps, and events, Faith aims to inspire young immigrants to realize their potential and contribute positively to their families, communities, and the Canadian economy.
Key Achievements and Impact:
- Over 80 kids, aged 10 to 20, have benefited from the Pure Gold Foundation‘s empowering programs.
- The foundation’s reach has expanded significantly, starting with three registered children and growing to more than 80 in a short span.
