Vancouver Bandits Sign Athletic Big Man Kur Jongkuch for 2023 CEBL Season

The Vancouver Bandits have announced that Kur Jongkuch, an athletic big man and Team Canada GLOBL JAM forward, has signed with the club for the upcoming Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) season at Langley Events Centre (LEC). This is great news for basketball fans in Vancouver and the surrounding areas, as Jongkuch is a talented player with a bright future in the sport.

Jongkuch, who is 6-foot-9 and was born in Juba, South Sudan but grew up in London, Ont., played college basketball for five years, splitting time between Northern Colorado University and Temple University. Over his career, he played in 151 games, averaging 5.7 points and 5.4 rebounds per game on 62.9% shooting from field goal range.

In addition to his college career, Jongkuch also played for the Canadian U-23 men’s national team in the GLOBL Jam tournament last summer. Bandits head coach and general manager Kyle Julius is excited to welcome Jongkuch to the team, saying, “Kur’s journey to get to the CEBL is truly remarkable and inspiring. He is a special athlete, an elite defender and his attitude and toughness fit our culture perfectly.”

Fans of the Bandits will have their first chance to watch Jongkuch play on home soil on June 3 when Vancouver takes on the Calgary Surge at LEC. Season tickets for the upcoming season are available for purchase, and the Bandits will also be hosting Championship Weekend in August, which features three games of playoff basketball and a multi-day festival experience.
