William Akio Named in South Sudan’s FIFA World Cup Qualifiers Squad

Cavalry FC striker William Akio has secured a spot on South Sudan’s 26-player shortlist for the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers in Senegal.

Since his arrival at Cavalry FC during the summer of 2023, Akio has impressively netted five goals in 10 league appearances, swiftly establishing himself as a key player. His inclusion in the squad offers him the chance to represent South Sudan in their upcoming crucial matches as they strive to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. South Sudan is scheduled to compete against Senegal on November 18, followed by a match against Mauritania on November 21. Both games are set to take place at the Stade Me Abdoulaye Wade in Diamniadio, Senegal.
